Our Story

His Version

In December 2022, I was having drinks with a mutual friend of Maegan’s when God created a moment that would change my life forever. In walks the most beautiful and striking blonde woman I have ever seen. I thought, surely this woman is not single. I was then asked to snap a picture of the friend and Maegan, unfortunately not on my phone, so I had to save the image in my mind, and it still sits filed away in my mind forever. All I knew was her name was Maegan…

Then, three weeks later, divine intervention struck again. I was invited to a house by the mutual friend, and I was told it was “The Maegan’s" house! I agreed to go to get another glimpse of this beautiful lady. I mean, who am I to disrupt God’s plan? I never for a minute thought she would be remotely interested in me, but I wanted the opportunity to say hello. It was a fun and short evening, but I saw her laugh, smile (oh, that smile), talk, and see those legs (Oh. My. Goodness. The legs!). It was a simple encounter, and she had no idea I was admiring her from afar. I thought I would never see or talk to her again, but we followed each other on Facebook and Instagram, which allowed me to admire from afar again and see what a wonderful Christian, mother, and person she was.

Six months later, after returning from a Florida beach vacation with my daughters, I saw Maegan was in Florida with her daughters, so, as any gentleman would do, I messaged her on Facebook. I told her that a weather and ocean anomaly was potentially headed her way. I mean, it was the proper thing to do, right….? I did not know how the message would be received, but she responded! We exchanged cell phone numbers, and there was limited chatting, but I thought, “What the heck?” I will ask her for coffee or drinks and see if she agrees….. She did!

But a few days later, she declined because she did not want to make her friend uncomfortable, who, by the way, I was on great terms with and knew would not be a problem… But Maegan still turned me down, and I couldn’t believe it. I knew she was amazing, and I just wanted an opportunity to talk to her, but it did not look like it would ever happen….

Then, God, in his divine plan, had me run into Maegan at Escalante’s, and she drove by my house while I was in the front yard (I did not see her either time), and she texted me! I couldn’t believe it! I knew this was my chance to try again to get her to go out with me, but I had to figure out how.

So, I anonymously sent a flower arrangement to her at work to see if she could reach out to me. However, my cell number was mistakenly left on the card, so she knew it was me. I was so nervous. I thought she would either say thank you, that was sweet, or never contact her again…. It was the former! I knew this was my last chance to ask her out, so I sent a simple text: “If I diligently and respectfully pursue you, will you please go out with me?” she said, “Yes!”

Our first date was August 19, 2023; we have been inseparable ever since! Thank God for his divine plan and for giving me the best gift I could imagine after the birth of my daughters, a beautiful bride named Maegan.

Her Version

After multiple bad dates from dating apps, one catfish, and several mismatched setups from well-intentioned friends, I'd sworn off dating altogether. I was at peace with being single and spending what little free time I had with family or friends. Everyone told me it would happen when I wasn't looking, and they were right.

On December 18th, 2022, I went out for dinner with my family. When we walked in, I ran into an old friend, who was with Carson. I figured they were together, so I wasn't looking at him in that way. He took our photo, and I sat down with my family. That was it... or so I thought.

In June 2023, I took my girls to Florida on our first vacation as a family of three. Carson saw I was there on social media, so he messaged me and started a conversation. He gave me his number and asked me out, and I agreed. A few days later, I started feeling guilty, as I thought my friend (the one we met through) would be upset if we went out, so I told him I couldn't do it. He offered to call and explain, and knowing he was an attorney and thinking he'd argue with me, I told him there was nothing more to discuss.

Carson waited about six weeks and then struck up a conversation again. The next day, he sent flowers to my office and asked me out again. He was very polite and respectful but quite persistent! I agreed to go on a date with him on August 19th; the rest is history.

I thank God for blessing me and my girls with a man better than we could have imagined and for doing it in His perfect timing. Carson and I complement each other so well. I finally understand what a beautiful, healthy relationship should be like, and I can't wait to spend forever with him!
